This weekend is the second to last weekend to visit the Newberg High School Plant Sale! All through the month of May, the Horticulture Program at Newberg High School is selling plants on Friday and Saturday from 9am-5pm. The Renaissance Man and I picked up some hanging baskets for our Mom’s on Mother’s Day, and I’ll be going back this weekend to get some vegetable starts for our garden, and a few hanging baskets of our own! So many beautiful colors!
I did some investigation online, and I seriously wish that my high school had a program like this…I’m totally jealous! The green house has working relationships with the Yamhill County Master Gardeners, City of Newberg, Chehalem Park and Recreation District, Newberg Rotary, Yamhill County Master Recyclers, Portland Community College and many others that help to teach students about plants.
You may remember I talked about how this program also provided most of the plant materials for the Viewmont Greenway Trail here in Dundee. I couldn’t be happier to purchase garden plants knowing that the proceeds go to benefitting this fantastic program.
See you at the plant sale!
