Happy New Year to all! What a surprise it was this morning to be back from our vacation on the Oregon Coast and to have snow covering the ground. Such a lovely way to end the holiday break! The Renaissance Man and I put on warm clothes and braved the chill this afternoon with a brisk walk around town to see the sights.
My favorite part about snow is how incredible quite the world becomes…everything is soft, slow, and lovely. It fills my heart.
I suspect that Dundee-Billick Park had more snow earlier in the day, but we didn’t venture out on our walk until after 2pm…surely some of the snow had melted. From the cheerful sounds we hear outside this morning, I think the park was full of happy children sledding down the hill!
And on the local streets, the roads were still mostly covered…except for the tire tracks of a few brave folks who ventured out in vehicles.
Our hiking boots did the trick!
The Renaissance was even kind enough to buy me a hot chocolate from Red Hill Market, he’s such a charmer!
What a fun way to kick off 2016!
