It’s hard to believe that I started planting our garden over a month ago!? Where has the time gone? Just look at the overall growth that’s taken place in the last three weeks.
Late May…
Middle June…the salad, kale, basil, and peppers have really taken off!
Late May…
Middle June…Just look at the tomato plants! We even had a volunteer tomato start growing from our crop last year, it’s the plant located on the far right of the picture below. I also had to add some additional support structures for the snap peas to grow on.
We had an overload of zucchini last year, so I made sure to only plant one this time around. I also added two cucumber plants this year!
Our cat Whiskey is my backyard helper, she’s been keeping an eye out on the lettuce and lets me know when I need to water things! ha! We’ll be ready for fresh lettuce any day now.
I also picked up some more seeds at the grocery, and plan to plant some winter squash, acorn squash, and maybe even some pumpkins. We’ll see if I can find the space in our raised garden bed or if I need to plant them somewhere in the bark dust. It’s going to be a busy season in the garden!
