The Renaissance Man and I both love of the water! We’ve been talking for a while now about how we need to go down to the river more often … and then we went to Costco. All great decisions are made at Costco right?
#WineWednesday: Taste Dundee Block Party
Saturday was a busy day in Dundee…we attended the “Taste Dundee Block Party” to kick-off Oregon Wine Month! Yay for the month of May! The celebration was a neighborhood type event held in the Chapter 24 parking lot right off of OR99W. The event featured wine from fifteen Dundee wineries along with small bites from six local restaurants. My kind of neighborhood block party!
#WineWednesday ~ Spring Shipment from Sokol Blosser
Spring wine shipments are here! It’s one of my favorite times of year seeing which wines were included as part of the shipment and to venture out to the wineries to pick them up. Picking up wine shipments is always a great excuse to go visit wine country! I just love the views from Sokol Blosser, we’re members there, and it’s one of my favorite places to hangout on the weekends.
2015 Dundee Firefighters Pancake Breakfast
The best part of waking up last Saturday morning was knowing just what we’d be having for breakfast! Signs had been posted all around town for several weeks for the Annual Dundee Firefighters Pancake Breakfast, and we weren’t about to miss it. The event has been happening for over 50 years!
Happy Easter from The Dundee Hills
Who doesn’t love an Easter Egg Hunt? When I was a kid, Easter was my favorite holiday and I’m pretty sure it was because of the “hunt.” I was competitive even back then! Ha!
I had been seeing signs around town for the Annual Dundee Easter Egg Hunt, and so The Renaissance Man and I headed over to the Dundee Billick Park around 10am on Saturday to watch it all happen. Nothing beats seeing little kids exploring the wonder of something new. The event was put on by the Dundee Community Committee and they did an amazing job!
Hiking Harvey Creek Trail to Purple Hands Winery
Last Sunday we went on an adventure! The weather was beautiful with temperatures in the mid to low sixties and not a cloud in the sky. We were trying to figure how we wanted to fill our day, when I simultaneously got a phone call from my Mom and a text message from our Neighbor. Everyone wanted to get outside and do something!
Our neighbors wanted to do some wine tasting, and they also just rescued a little dog named Ginger, so we decided to take Ginger and my parent’s dog Cooper on hike together over to Purple Hands Winery via the Harvey Creek Trail.
The Slowest Growing Lettuce
So you may or may not remember…but back in November, I was working on a little garden project. We had enjoyed fresh lettuce from our garden all summer and it took very little effort. I figured we’d plant a winter crop of lettuce and save ourselves some money at the grocery.
After looking at all sorts of complicated greenhouse projects on Pinterest, I decided to keep it simple and make a makeshift greenhouse out of some clear plastic tubs. I was so smitten with my fantastic idea, I could just envision our abundant supply of lettuce!
#WineWednesday ~ Exploring White Rose
Happy #WineWednesday! I took these photos back in November over the Wine Country Thanksgiving Weekend and wanted to share them with you. Exploring White Rose Estate was such a cool experience, it’s unlike any other tasting room in the Dundee Hills AVA.
A Walk in the Viewmont Greenway Park
Hello everyone and Happy February! It’s so great to be writing again after missing a few weeks here on the blog.
I’m very excited to share a really neat project with you today. The Renaissance Man and I love to go for walks, and on a sunny day in late January we went on a walk around town. The views always take my breath away, we live in such a beautiful place! I seriously have to pinch myself almost daily.
Winter Daffodils & Honeybees
Yesterday was a beautiful day, it was the kind of January Saturday that you dream about! The sun was out, the temperature was in the mid-60s, and I could feel the hints of Spring almost everywhere. Despite having our fair amount of rain this winter, the temperatures have remained mild and I’ve been slowly watching my daffodils peak out of the ground.
