The Renaissance Man and I love to walk around Dundee. We live in such a beautiful place and there is always so much to see! A while back (May 2014, oops!) I promised that I would post updates about the progress of the Newberg-Dundee Bypass…well, tons has happened and I haven’t done a great job of “reporting.”
However, the construction has not gone unnoticed! This is the bridge structure for the 8th Street Overcrossing, which we can also see from one of the upstairs bedrooms in our house. This structure will serve local traffic and will be the new connection down to the Chehalem Park and Recreation paddle launch, and it looks to be almost complete!
What’s neat about this structure is the river design in the concrete railing. You can just barely see the design in the picture below, but I think it’s a nice touch and an ode to the Willamette River.
Up next I’ll get some photos of the bridge structure going in at the south end of Dundee that crosses over OR99W. We’ve heard them driving piles for the supports on and off all summer, and in the next few months they’ll be putting in the girders across the road.
Looking forward to Fall 2017 and the completion of this project!
