Have I mentioned that I love living in a small town? Ha! I may have mentioned it a time or two…or three…
Last Monday evening we celebrated the season with the Annual Dundee Fire Department Holiday Parade. It was the perfect opportunity to make some hot cocoa, bundle up nice and warm, stand on the sidewalk, and take in the sights! Around 6:30pm, I could just hear the faint sound of sirens so I quickly ventured up to SW Dogwood Drive to take in the parade.
The Fire Department had decorated all of their vehicles with colorful lights and Santa Claus even made a guest appearance. I have a feeling the Brush Rig was a slight change of pace from his typical sleigh, but I could tell Santa was enjoying the ride! The little kids…and little kids at heart…were just as excited!
I’m telling you, there is just something neat about getting out in your community and connecting with your neighbors. The City of Dundee does a fantastic job cultivating this camaraderie by have community events that invite people out of their houses and on to the sidewalks. I saw both new and familiar faces and enjoyed every minute of it!
Happy Holidays!
