Happy #WineWednesday! I took these photos back in November over the Wine Country Thanksgiving Weekend and wanted to share them with you. Exploring White Rose Estate was such a cool experience, it’s unlike any other tasting room in the Dundee Hills AVA.
White Rose is located on NE Hilltop Lane near Vista Hills Vineyard, Winter’s Hill Estate, and De Ponte Cellars. The views were breathtaking even on a stormy day in November.
The tasting room itself can be found behind this small wooden door. While most tasting rooms make the most of the expansive Willamette Valley views, White Rose limits the senses with a sunken in tasting room that feels a bit like a chic hobbit hole.
At White Rose Estate the wine is certainly the star of the show, as is evident by the numerous wines listed on the “Wall of Fame.”
We tasted the highly anticipated 2012 vintages, and as we moved down the tasting list the wines just kept getting better and better!
What’s neat about White Rose Estate is that they have the upstairs tasting room in addition to a down stairs barrel room. The two aren’t internally connected so we had a chance to take in more views as we moved down the tasting list. I love when tastings are done in a way that moves guest throughout the facility.
Downstairs we were treated to more wine in addition to some wonderful nibbles. Who can say no to cheese and bread while wine tasting?
My favorite part of exploring White Rose Estate was the tasting done in the cellar room. The room was warm compared to the frigid temperatures outside, and the glow on the barrels was mesmerizing. I could have snuggled down in a corner with a good book and a glass of wine and spent all afternoon in the cellar room.
I really enjoyed taking in all of the stainless steel tanks and processing equipment, it always gets my mind turning thinking about all of the work that goes into the perfect glass of wine.
If you happen to be visiting the Dundee Hills AVA, I highly recommend stopping by White Rose Estate. It’s the perfect place to enjoy the beautiful bounty and views of the Willamette Valley!
